Overnight, police and fire crews handled several notable incidents across Bakersfield and Kern County. Just before 11 p.m., officers responded to a wellness facility on Evanston Court in southwest Bakersfield after a dispute escalated, with a roommate reportedly pouring hot water on another resident and on bedding and equipment at the scene. Earlier, around 9:20 p.m., a brush fire was reported in a field in unincorporated Kern County, possibly being put out by residents before fire officials dispatched multiple engines, two battalions, and dozers to the scene. Shortly after 11 p.m., officers also responded to a domestic call on Riverlakes Drive in southwest Bakersfield, where residents were pushing and throwing property; a woman on scene reported she was pregnant and had been struck. About 5:54 a.m., a caller reported that a subject who had just fled had burglarized his residence in north Bakersfield, and officers were investigating. Just after midnight, officers checked on a 19-year-old woman at a residence on Beardsley Avenue in southeast Bakersfield who was under the influence and had made suicidal statements. Overnight activity clustered on the southwest side of town, while the county brush fire was reported to be largely under control by residents before crews arrived.
