Dots are placed from overnight police, sheriff, fire, and EMS dispatch traffic. Locations are generalized to block or cross-street level — the map never shows an exact address — and everything is preliminary until confirmed. Archives lag live airwaves by up to ~30 minutes, so the map is a rolling picture, not instantaneous.

Each dot is one dispatched incident from the overnight scanner feed, colored by category and sized by how significant it sounded on the air (larger = more serious).
