What Happened Overnight in Bakersfield & Kern County
A garage fire in southeast Bakersfield brought a reinforced structure assignment at 2:21 a.m., a vacant double-wide trailer burned at a Rosamond mobile home park at 1:37 a.m., and crews worked heavy smoke at a former discount store on Niles Street before midnight. Fires did most of the work overnight. Police traffic ran to disturbances, suspicious-person reports, a shots-heard call and a relayed domestic violence report from a hotel, and it thinned out after 3 a.m.
The big one

At 1:37 a.m. crews were sent to a mobile home park on Rosamond Boulevard for multiple reports of a trailer on fire. Crews knocked the fire down with the first tank of water and held units for water supply. A county engine and battalion added to the call were cancelled once the scene was under control.
Heavy smoke at the former Family Dollar on Niles Street
At 11:46 p.m. a battalion and a city battalion were sent to heavy smoke coming from the former Family Dollar building at Niles Street and Mount Vernon Avenue. Crews reported a heavy smoke condition on arrival, and by 11:56 p.m. dispatchers had confirmation that the primary and secondary searches were complete and the building was all clear.
